Yoga Much?

For some, yoga is anything but entertaining, yet for others, it is an outlet and a refreshing way to spend time. In New York last week, Vivienne Tam announced that she will be joining forces with Olympic gold medalist Li Ning to create a fashion yoga collection.

Tam has taken yoga for many years, and his hoping that this line can bring a collision between fashion and athletics. The collection consists of everything from bags and mats to spandex and tops with built in bras. The clothing contains UV protection plus deoderization, keeping diffferent womens body shapes in mind.

The collection is set to premiere in the Spring 2011. It is also suggested to make around $2 million within the first year.

What type of fashion yoga-wear should you use before Tam's new line comes out? Try Canadian originated athletic wear line called  Lululemon Athletica. Originated as a yoga line, is now supplies clothes for running, biking, and any other sport for the most part. Lululemon Athletica holds a high quality in material wear, especially for yoga appareal.

Also new in fashion this week: Victorias Secret sets the date for their fashion show to Nov 9. This year's models incude Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Candice Swanepoel, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge and Lindsay Ellingson.

US Open 2011: Bright and Brilliant

In New York this week, there is a more than usual buzz around the city. Between the 2011 US Open Tennis Championship and Fall Fashion Week rolling around the corner, there is a mix of both new incoming style and the sweet entertainment being played under the bright lights at Louis Armstrong Stadium. Starting this tournament off with a flash, Adidas posted players like Ana Ivanovic and Lurgen Mezler in radiant reds and florescent orange colors to match the haut couture of the summer lines.

Worlds #4 player Andy Murray, also playing in Adidas's accentuated colors, sported a red and lime green dri-fit top. Being Adidas’s top agent, Murray has signed a 5-year contact with the German apparel company for $25.5 million. Murray lost a brutal Semifinal match 6-4 6-2 3-6 6-2 to World's #2, Rafael Nadal. Moving on into Monday night’s finals,  Nadal sports his usual Nike apparel with a dark blue dri-fit outfit including matching wristbands and side bag.

To finish this year tournament off strong with a run into Sundays Women’s Final, Serena Williams (also sponsored by Nike), walked out on court in her night outfit with a vibrant blue dress covered in black accents and headband. Serena lost to Sam Stosur 2-6 3-6. Although Serena is known for her outgoing style in the industry, this year she stood strong with this Nike Tennis Dress.

This summer, sports fashion finished by using this theme of flashy, matching perfectly with the intense thrill that comes with watching the US Open. Throughout last seasons haut couture, many of the same outstanding colors came through the tennis world, leaving a strong statement on each athlete wearing them. As this tournament comes to the end, so does this clothing season, and we can look forward to a less extravagant but equally strong Fall 2011 season.
